President
Kira Bennett
I'm a sophomore accounting major with a minor in computer science. I had zero dance experience prior to revitalizing the club my freshman year, but I wanted to have new experiences whilst at college so I attempted to join the club. My favorite memory is walking back with the original executive board (all 4 of us!) after hosting our first lesson last year. I'll never forget the overwhelming shock of, 'We actually did it.' I'm so happy to see just how far this club has come, and can't wait to see how far this board can take it!

Vice-President
Alex Orr
“I am a junior majoring in accounting and economics with a sociology minor. My grandparents have been dancing for the last ten years or so and I found a reason to transition from other styles of dance to ballroom through this club. My favorite memory in this organization so far is dancing at Purdue’s Ballroom Classic with our competitive team this last October.”

Secretary
Natalie Anne Heath
"I’m graduating with a BS in biology this May and I’ve been secretary for Mizzou Ballroom since April. I started dancing in 2019 and joined MU’s club a year ago. My favorite part of the journey so far has been learning to dance salsa in a more focused environment.”

Treasurer
Amelia Schneider
"I’m majoring in finance and Economics. I chose to start ballroom dancing because of my grandma. She did ballroom dance and I wanted to be cool like her. My favorite memory was the Valentine’s Day ball because it was our first social gathering and my grandma came to participate, too. Overall, it was a really fun time and great success for our organization.”

Head of Marketing
Nicole Swoboda
“I am a junior majoring in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation. Something I’ve enjoyed about this organization is the people I’ve been able to meet and the memories I have made — from Kira (our graceful president) falling flat on her face during announcements to me almost killing my partner during Viennese Waltz.”

Head of Fundraising
Molly Allen-Thomas
"I'm a freshman pursuing a Biology major and minor in Women and Gender Studies! I've been dancing since September last year, the same time I joined the club! My favorite part of this experience has been learning and growing with the other members of the club."

Team Captain
Lily Porter
“I’m a biology and Spanish double major on the pre-med track. I manage the competitive team for the club. I found this club this August 2022 while in search of a creative outlet and fell head over heels! My favorite memories so far have been dancing at Purdue’s Ballroom Classic and attending the Halloween Ball.”

Club Mascot
Umbreon
Umbreon is a five year old Pomeranian dog, was rescued two years ago, and never learned how to read. He did, however, manage to stomp a paw print on his oath of office last April. Umbie likes to yell at dancers because he thinks they are trying to step on him, but is slowly accepting Rumba as a safe activity. We all pretend he is just cheering us on from the sidelines.

Faculty Advisor
Amanda Rose
"I’m a developmental psychologist and a Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences. I study adolescents’ friendships and emotional well-being and mentor many students in my research laboratory. I also have been dancing since I was 5 years old! After my own children were born, I finally got back into dancing by learning to ballroom dance. I am so happy to be able to share my love of ballroom with the MU Ballroom Club and to support the club and competitive team in all that they do."
